About this track

Home (The Broken Place You Left), feels like driving with no destination, with cracked floorboards behind you, empty roads ahead, and that strange middle-space where you’re not running anymore… just trying to figure out what home is supposed to mean now.

The track circles around the idea of inheritance you never asked for: the broken place someone handed you, the ghosts left in the walls, the sense that the house you grew up in wasn’t built for who you eventually became. But instead of stopping there, the song pivots toward something I don’t say out loud much… the hope that “home” can be rebuilt, redefined, and chosen.

Lyrics

Broken floor boards
Under my shoes
What’s there to lose
I get in the car and drive
For miles

I want to find my way
See the forest for the trees
I want to find my way

Home doesn’t have to be
The broken place you left

Chosen family
Can be tighter than blood
Itself

I get in the car
Going nowhere

Are these four walls
What’s keeping me here

There’s things that I chase
A happier place
Stability

There’s things that I crave
That I don’t deserve
Tranquility

Home doesn’t have to be
The broken place you left

Chosen family
Can be tighter than blood
Itself
