Abrasive Monologues is an independent art house label founded in 2022 with a single rule… Make something real.

We represent a growing roster of artists across genres—from metal and ambient to alternative, experimental, and electronic. What unites us isn’t sound, but intention. Each artist here creates from the inside out. No one’s sanding down their edges to fit a trend. No one’s chasing playlist placement. We’re not interested in disposable art.

The label began as a private publishing outlet for founder Jon Hadley’s early solo work. But during the creation of his second album, Warm Cyborgs, a fully collaborative project—the model shifted. That process gave birth to the Abrasive Monologues Creative Co-op, where guest contributors weren’t just featured, they became the foundation. Those same collaborators now form the backbone of Abrasive Monologues Independent Records, a collective built on mutual respect, shared vision, and a refusal to compromise.

Privately held and fully self-funded, Abrasive Monologues is a home for musicians, writers, and creators who build with texture, truth, and a little bit of wreckage. Some of us are loud. Some of us are quiet. But none of us are pretending.
