In 2077, the Vengeful One was helping on a mission to eradicate the very vermin lurking within the East Coast of the United States and the Isle Of Cavalera. With his Vengeful Army joining forces with the Maelstrom Crew, who spilt their time between Night City and New York, the willpower and strength of the gang knew no bounds. Government agencies and the corpo rats running the subsidiaries ended up going bust, and their influence was overshadowed.

Two years later, 2079, the Vengeful One is now the Exultant One. A familiar face appears before his very eyes. A well known mercenary around Night City who was caught in the action, in the midst of a significant raid that would have left him a rich man, miraculously regained his consciousness and strength two months after his coma. He knows about the positive effect the Exultant One brings about on his community.

As the Exultant One welcomes him into the team, the last surviving organiztion over in the City Of Halliwell, Isle of Cavalera, (SureFire) also in full support of the tyrannical corporate practices of its sister corporations, impose a new type of threat to every gang in America. The cyberware companies that have served the mercenaries across the country are at risk of becoming irrelevant thanks to what that organization is capable of, their skillset alone which has put a few cyberware companies into liquidation before.

The Exultant One and his crew are having to be a lot more cautious, and a lot more strategic this time, as they embark on a mission to protect and level up these cyberware companies. Which means facing military units created by SureFire themselves, using their equally technologically advanced artificial intelligence programs to replicate the physical and emotional capabilities of humankind. They know full well that most of society outside of New York has been subconciously brainwashed by SureFire, which puts them in a very difficult position.

SureFire initially overpowers the gang, until the Exultant One is able to use his cyberware to his advantage to communicate with intergalactic lifeform (to which his prodigal son Klaxon has a strong connection with), the lifeform which can easily make SureFire's artificial intelligence program look like the weakest link in comparison, and with the help of these sprites and his crew, ultimately impales SureFire's military units, destroying them instantly.

This could well and truly be the end of the Corpo Rat era. Or could it?
